The International Energy Agency (IEA) has lowered its forecast for global gas demand growth in 2025 from the previous 1.5% to 1.3%, APA-Economics reports, citing the Agency.
However, a new record in gas consumption is expected in 2026.
“The tightening of market conditions will primarily affect the growth of global gas demand in the price-sensitive import market,” the report notes.
Thus, global gas demand in 2025 may amount to 4.27 trillion cubic meters compared to 4.21 trillion cubic meters in 2024.
According to the Agency’s assessment, the growth rate will accelerate to 2% in 2026, and as a result, global gas consumption will reach a new record of 4.35 trillion cubic meters.
