The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), under the Department of Energy, has updated its forecast for daily global demand for liquid hydrocarbons for 2025–2026, APA-Economics reports, citing EIA's monthly report.
This year the average global daily demand for liquid hydrocarbons is expected to be 103.99 million barrels, which is 0.18 million barrels higher than the previously issued forecast.
According to the EIA forecast, the figure is expected to be 105.11 million barrels in 2026 (previous forecast figure – 105.09 million barrels).
It is noted that in 2024, the average global daily demand for liquid hydrocarbons amounted to 102.91 million barrels, which is an increase of 0.77 million barrels compared to 2023 (102.14 million barrels).
Recall that in 2022, the average global daily demand for liquid hydrocarbons was 99.15 million barrels. In 2021, this figure was 97.56 million barrels, in 2020 – 91.81 million barrels, and in 2019, the figure stood at 101.23 million barrels.
