Capital expenditures on South Caucasus Pipeline increased by 50%

During the first half of this year, the operational expenditures of the South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP) amounted to approximately 36 million US dollars, while capital expenditures were around 12 million dollars, APA-Economics reports citing BP’s report dedicated to the results on its operations in Azerbaijan for the first half of the current year.

It was noted that in an annual comparison operational expenditures during the reporting period decreased by 3.5%, while capital expenditures increased by 50%.

“The SCP pipeline was commissioned at the end of 2006 and delivers Shah Deniz gas to Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye. The South Caucasus Pipeline Expansion (SCPX) system began delivering commercial gas volumes to Türkiye in June 2018 and to Europe in December 2020,” the report states.

It was reported that during the first six months of the year, the SCP’s average daily throughput capacity for export was 63.1 million cubic meters.

The shareholders of the South Caucasus Pipeline Company (SCPC) are as follows: BP (29.99%), Southern Gas Corridor (21.02%), LUKOIL (19.99%), TPAO (19.00%), and NIKO (10.00%).
