Chairman of the Council of State Support to NGOs under the President of Azerbaijan Azay Guliyev has offered to increase the funds allocated by the state to NGOs functioning abroad for the protection of national interests of the country during the discussion of the draft state budget for 2013 at the Azerbaijani Parliament, APA reports. He said that his words were important for the protection of national interests: “For this purpose, it will be advisable to increase the funds allocated to the Council.”
Chairman of the United Azerbaijan Popular Front Party Gudrat Hasanguliyev said that the reforms must be carried out in economic sphere. He also offered to increase military expenditures by 25% in state budget. The chairman also underlined the importance of increasing the funds allocated to the spheres of education and science: “The salaries of doctors and teachers must be increased.”
Hasanguliyev also said that the decrease of the funds allocated to the Autonomous Republic of Nakhchivan by 1% was not correct.
Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Ogtay Asadov said that the military expenditures of Azerbaijan were sufficient: “To compare the military power of Azerbaijan and Armenia is incorrect. But we can’t declare our country as a militarist country.”
