Baku. Mubariz Aslanov – APA. The resolution adopted by the European Parliament regarding Azerbaijan was criticized at the plenary meeting of the Azerbaijani Parliament, APA reports.

Vice-speaker of Azerbaijan Parliament, Co-Chair of the Cooperation Committee of the European Parliament-Azerbaijani Parliament Valeh Alaskarov said in his speech that a number of forces as well as the European Parliament envy Azerbaijani for its independent policy.

Alaskarov said the EP has always taken a position towards Azerbaijan with double, triple or quadruple standards. “Once, they offered us to vote for the document that mentioned “Nagorno-Karabakh and the occupied territories of Azerbaijan”. Thus, they ignored the reality that Nagorno Karabakh is our territory. They laid down conditions that we should sign this document or the EP will adopt a resolution on any two Azerbaijani bloggers. How do you think? Isn’t it blackmail?

Commenting on U.S. President Barack Obama’s statement and the resolution of the European Parliament, Chairman of the Azerbaijani Parliament's Committee on Law Policy and State Building Ali Huseynli said that this is an unfair position. “They support the NGOs to neglect the Karabakh issue and cooperate with special service agencies of Armenia”, he noted.

Azay Guliyev said that today it’s non-sense to utter positive opinions about the European Parliament and Euronest PA: “The European Parliament has damaged the Eastern Partnership. So Euronest PA is no longer trusted. The reason is the European Parliament’s position and its selective approach. The resolution of the European Parliament is a baseless and tendentious document. They have a different position in relation to Armenia. There are political prisoners in Georgia, the former president is under pressure, but this authority keeps silent”.

Gudret Hasanguliyev said international organizations must be seriously condemned, but added that there’s no need to get into conflict with international organizations: “It’s not worth getting into open conflict with international organizations because of five or six people. I think law enforcement bodies also need to consider this issue”.

Vice-Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Bahar Muradova said the matter is not about five or six people: “It’s not the matter. Some poisonous forces within these organizations take the advantage of it. They often manipulate NGOs. NGOs should operate normally, transparently, and comply with the law”.
