Baku – APA. After the media reported what the US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Richard Morningstar said on the presidential elections in Azerbaijan at the meeting with the Defense Minister, Colonel General Safar Abiyev on October 14, US Embassy issued a statement saying the media reports are inaccurate. The Defense Ministry has commented on the embassy's statement.
The Ministry says: “We express our regret. The Ministry’s press service says that the part of the official information related to the ambassador was not distorted, his words were reported as they were. If the embassy persists in its position, the Defense Ministry is ready to give the sound recording of Ambassador Richard Morningstar’s views”.
The Ministry’s press service once more states that no inaccurate or incorrect information was released.
