Baku – APA. The Republic of Azerbaijan has made its comments and suggestions for the UN Secretary General’s report on “Confidence-building measures at the regional and sub-regional levels” within the 68th session of the UN General Assembly and these suggestions have been included in the report.

Foreign Ministry's press service told APA that Azerbaijan’s comments and suggestions cover main problems that hinder confidence-building in the South Caucasus region, including Armenia’s aggressive policy against Azerbaijan. It is also mentioned that Armenia flagrantly violates the norms and principles of the international law, continues the occupation of Azerbaijani territories, pursues ethnic cleansing policy, fails to comply with arms control regime, is the most militaristic country in the region for the ratio of state funds allocated to the military to GDP per capita and urges to implement "confidence and security-building measures” in the region avoiding the real essence to deceive the international community.

The Republic of Azerbaijan emphasized that withdrawal of occupying forces from the territories of Azerbaijan is the implementation of "confidence and security-building measures” in the region.
