Baku – APA. Chief of socio-political department of the Presidential Administration Ali Hasanov commented on the act committed by Orkhan Zeynalov in Moscow and the ongoing processes regarding this issue.
The department chief told APA that every crime must be investigated within the country’s legislation, no matter who committed, the perpetrator must be brought to account and punished: “But this process should not lead to the restriction of rights or business activities of other foreign citizens, who are living and legally working in this country, nor lead to the formation of negative opinion against them in the society.”
I express my deep regret that in order to find an alleged murderer in Moscow, a number of migrants, who have nothing to do with this case have been detained, are tortured and the situation is artificially exaggerated, all this serves to strengthen discrimination, xenophobia, racism in the multinational and multi-confessional Russian society, and lead to more violations of the law. Especially, I would like to note that the activity and imperious rhetoric of the law-enforcement bodies, the violence used while detaining the alleged criminal, its demonstration on the internet and media can not be explained in terms of healthy logic.”
Ali Hasanov noted that Russia is a multinational state, representatives of numerous nations have been living there for centuries.
“In the multinational states only national and religious tolerance, balanced, well thought-out policy among the nations can have a success. It is known that the disruption of this balance causes serious problems in these countries. Therefore, in the multinational societies, the rhetoric, which has wrong signal effect on the relations among the nations should be avoided, racism, discrimination, xenophobia should be prevented in time. Like Russia, Azerbaijan is also a multinational state. But the national and ethnic affiliation of the criminal has never been the subject of discussion in Azerbaijan, any attempt that may undermine national and religious tolerance has been prevented. I think inadequate measures taken by Russian law-enforcement bodies regarding this incident, instigating position of the local media may have a boomerang effect and lead to unpleasant processes for the Russian society.
On the other hand, Moscow is a megalopolis, tens of crimes are committed there every day. It sets us thinking that a certain crime is especially chosen and agiotage is stirred up around it.
We hope the Russian people and government will prevent such dangerous provocations by some interested groups and such discriminative tendencies will not go deep into the Russian society.
