Salaries of speaker and members of Azerbaijani Parliament increased by 15.3%

Chairman of the committee on legal policy and state-building Ali Huseynli said that an amendment to article 21 of the law “On the status of the members of the Azerbaijani Parliament” has been proposed in this regard.

According to the amendment, monthly salary of the speaker of the Parliament will be increased from AZN 1950 to AZN 2250.

According to the law “On the status of the members of the Azerbaijani Parliament”, the salary of the first vice-speaker of the Parliament is equal to 90%, the salary of the deputy speaker to 85%, the salary of parliamentary committee and commission chairman to 80%, the salary of deputy chairman of the parliamentary committee and commission to 75%, the salary of the MP is equal to 70% of the speaker’s salary.

In connection with the relevant amendment, the salaries of the abovementioned persons will rise consequently.
Chairman of Economic Policy Committee of Azerbaijani Parliament Ziyad Samadzadeh noted that according to the calculations this increase makes 15.3%.

Following the discussions, the draft law was put up for discussion and adopted.
