Azerbaijani President: "We are surprised, when we see such things in countries that call themselves democracies

Baku-APA. International events and forums, held every week in Baku, turned Azerbaijan and capital city not only into regional center but also our country become major center in the world map, said President Ilham Aliyev attending a ceremony on 20th anniversary of establishment of New Azerbaijan Party ".

The President noted that he is a supporter of comparison: “We see the situation of some developed countries. On television, we see daily processes, riots taking place in these countries. Ten thousands of people pour into the streets to protest. They are beaten with cruelty and brutality. We see it from TV channels. Of course, this can not be ignored. We call on developed countries to show patience in such cases. They should not torture and oppress people so much. People take the streets to express their protests. But to baton, poison with gas and to smash them is unacceptable. These actions are contrary to democratic norms. We are truly surprised when we see such things in countries that call themselves “democratic states” or “cradle of the democracy”

The President noted that Azerbaijan can be considered a model in this regard: "As in other areas and in this area we can be a model. In Azerbaijan, all these issues are being resolved in a civil manner. These issues must find their solution only in this way. There are reasons for these mass protests. Without the reason so many people will not come out to the street. The cause is known and clear. These countries have made unreasonably high expenses, was got in debt, and then the next government could not recover these debts. They made populist promises and actually got into the pockets of future generations and huge debt was emerged. External debt of some developed countries exceeds 100% of GDP. This actually means that they fail. In Azerbaijan, the figure is 8.7%. "

The President stressed that in some developed countries unemployment is 25%, and among youth this figure is 50%: "In Azerbaijan, unemployment is 5.3% and the poverty is 7%. Influential international rating agencies lowered the credit ratings to developed countries. On the contrary the credit rating of Azerbaijan is increased. Azerbaijani economy is competitive. For macroeconomic stability Azerbaijan is in the top ten in the world. All these are statistics. It is impossible to ignore. It can not be ignored. This is reality. This reality shows once again that the way we have chosen is the right one. "
