Azerbaijan increases fines for violating legislation on political parties

Baku. Parvin Abbasov – APA. Amendments to the Code of Administrative Offences have been submitted for discussion at the meeting of the Azerbaijani Parliament’s Committee on Legal Policy and State building. APA reports that it was proposed to make amendments to the fines for violating legislation on political parties in the Code of Administrative Offences. The offer was put up for voting and adopted.

 

Thus, individuals will be fined in amount of AZN 750-1500, officials - AZN1500-3000, legal entities – AZN 8000-15000, over interference in the activity of state bodies and officials by political parties, as well as the establishment and activity of political parties of foreign countries, their departments and organizations, acting on behalf of the abolished political party, or participating in its illegal formation. For the repetition of this action, individuals will be fined in amount of AZN 1500-3000, officials – AZN 3000-6000, legal entities – AZN 15000-30000.

 

The draft law has been recommended to the parliament’s plenary meeting.
