APFP deputy chairman: â€œIsa Gambar has hastenedâ€

He said that though the issue on a single candidate in Public Chamber was raised a while ago, later it was clarified: “The position was that our activity should focus on democratization of the electoral environment and country. But Public Chamber has no decision or agreement on a single candidate or the candidate’s protection. Our current activity is focused only on democratization of the electoral environment.”

Karimov noted that the Musavat Party chairman’s decision on putting forward his candidacy should not to have impact on the fate of Public Chamber: “Isa Gambar is chairman of an opposition party and of course, he has right to put forward his candidacy as a party chairman or a citizen. Public Chamber has not discussed this issue and one should not hasten. If Public Chamber passes a decision, the position of APFP will be announced. In any case, APFP supports protection and maintenance of the Public Chamber’s integrity.”
