January 8 is the deadline for submitting the documents required to register a presidential candidate to the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan, APA reports.
The process of submitting the documents necessary for candidate registration started on December 19, 2023, and will last until 18:00 (GMT +4) on January 8, 2024.
To date, 17 candidates have been approved by the CEC.
On December 19, 2023, the Central Election Commission approved the candidacy of Ilham Aliyev for the post of president from the ruling New Azerbaijan Party. Ilham Aliyev’s candidacy for the post of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan was registered at a meeting of the Central Election Commission held on December 30.
