Sergey Lebedev, the Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) will head the mission of observers from the CIS during the extraordinary presidential elections to be held in Azerbaijan on February 7, said CIS Executive Committee, APA reports.
It was noted that Lebedev's candidacy was approved by the decision of the Permanent Council of Authorized Representatives of the CIS member states under the charter and other bodies of the Union.
It was noted that, CIS mission of observers will monitor the election campaign at the invitation of the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
