Azerbaijan has so far lost 24 cases related to the right to vote in the European Court of Human Rights and has been fined more than 700,000 euros, said the Chairman of the Board of the Institute of Law and Human Rights, Mahammad Guluzade, at the seminar dedicated to reviewing applications related to the right to vote, APA reports.
He noted that these cases are related to technical errors: “Unfortunately, The European Court sometimes acts from a political position when it issues decisions against our country. Therefore, we should be extremely attentive when documenting any violations. We should not give the European Court a reason to issue such a decision against our country.”
