A group of opposition leaders and human rights defenders appeals the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan

Baku. Elnur Mammadli–APA. Some of the opposition leaders and human rights defenders appealed the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan. They said constitutional changes proposed by the ruling New Azerbaijan Party didn’t contribute to the democratization in the country, press service of the Azerbaijan Popular Front Party (AXCP) told APA. Authors of the appeal emphasized that the proposals contribute to the political interests while there are no serious problems and needs in such changes in the country. They asked the judges to consider these proposals contradictory to the Constitution and to express a negative opinion.

AXCP Chairman Ali karimli, ALP leader Lala Shevket, VIP Chairman Ali Aliyev, Musavat leader Isa Gambar, President of the Public Union for Azerbaijan Eldar Namazov, ADP Chairman Sardar Jalaloglu, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Lawyers Association Annagi Hajibeyli, Human Rights defenders Novella Jafaroglu, Saadat Bananyarli, Saida Gojamanli and Leila Yunus.
