MM sets up bill on reproductive health in first reading

Baku. Elbrus Seyfullayev-APA. MM has today set up law on reproductive health in the first reading, Malahat Hasanova, member of MM Standing Commission on Social Policy Affairs introduced the bill. To her, the bill envisages services on protection of reproductive health and family planning and determines legal frameworks on realization of reproductive rights.
Hasanova added that a mother dies in a minute during childbirth in the world. The problem occurs in Azerbaijan as well. The bill serves for maternity protection. The bill was approved by 140 countries of the world.
MP Siyavush Novruzov stressed there was no need for adoption of the bill.
“There are such kinds of Articles in this bill that a man is embarrassed while reading it. I consider that MPs should vote against the bill”, he said.
MP Yevda Abramov underlined that the bill should be approved. To him, the bill will serve for family protection in Azerbaijan.
MM will continue debates on December 19.
