Baku. Elnur Mammadli – APA. Two of the presidential candidates have withdrawn their candidacy, Secretary of Central Election Commission (CEC) Natig Mammadov said today at the meeting, APA reports.
He said that advisor of Medeniyyet newspaper Teymur Guliyev appealed to CEC saying he withdraws his candidacy because of the complicated situation in the South Caucasus. The other man – department chief of scientific-methodic journal of Education Ministry Fikrat Ahadov withdrew his candidacy as he could not collect 40,000 signatures. CEC passed a decision to cancel their candidacy after considering their applications.
