President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attends the opening of reconstructed part of Baku-Russia border road

Baku-APA. The newly-reconstructed part of Baku-Guba-Russia border road in its 15-34 km has been opened on Friday. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening ceremony, public relations department of the roadâ€™s constructor Accord Group of Companies told APA. Minister of transport Ziya Mammadov has informed the president about work done and then the head of state cut the symbolic red ribbon. President Aliyev visited the construction area to see work there. Reconstruction of Baku-Guba-Russia border began in May by the Accord Group of Companies on order of the Transport Ministryâ€™s Azeryolservice Joint-Stock Society. The project was funded by the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development. Accord Company concrete-enveloped the part of road in 16-134 km. 7000 workers and about 3000 technical equipments were involved in the reconstruction work. In parallel communication lines were changed, water installations, bridges and passages were constructed in the territory. More than 100 km part of the road was concrete-enveloped already and final work is continued now in Baku-Sumgayit road. The road was surrounded with the light pillars and foothold walls. 21 bridges and road-conductors, 10 crossroads, 15 passages for animals, 112 pipes, 4 concrete-mixing plants and 5 service areas were constructed on the road. The road is enveloped with 28 cm-thick concrete because it must endure the large size of trucks.
