CEC establishes expertise group to investigate appeals

Baku. Elnur Mammadli–APA. The Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan has established 9-member expertise group for investigation of appeals related to the upcoming presidential elections. CEC has passed this decision at its meeting on Monday, APA reports. The group will qualitatively investigate complaints during the elections and will reach results in a short time. CEC secretary Natig Mammadov said 9 members – Ramiz Ibrahimov, Gabil Orukov, Nizami Nadirov, Valida Kazimova, Tofig Hasanov, Rovshan Ismayilov, CEC department chief Irada Hajiyeva, secretariat’s staff members Rafig Abbasov and Emin Gukiyev have joined the group. CEC has also decided to establish 3-member expertise groups under the district election commissions. Member of the Political Council of New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) Aydin Mirzazadeh has been approved as the CEC consultative-vote member from YAP. The Commission has also approved self-nominated presidential candidates - “Medeniyyet” (Culture) newspaper’s adviser Teymour Guliyev and “Expertisa” newspaper’s editor Suleyman Guliyev. Composition of some electoral districts has been changed at the meeting.
