Azerbaijanâ€™s ex-president Ayaz Mutallibov officially announces that he quits politics

It is an important step in the development of Azerbaijani democracy. The law cannot but have a positive effect on internal political atmosphere in the country, said ASDPâ€™s co-chairman Ayaz Mutallibov during a telephone conversation in the partyâ€™s congress, APA reports. Mutallibov said that this law was also related to him; â€œThe adoption of that law gladdened me and my family members, because this law it put an end to my immigration and created conditions for my repatriation. I wish the numbers of such steps to be more. I express gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev, the lawâ€™s authors, MPs who supported the law during discussions in the parliament, political figures and civiliansâ€.

Mutallibov noted that this law gives a worthy estimate to the former presidents: â€œThis law calms me and my family members who have been suffering for many years. Dear friends, this status doesnâ€™t prohibit me to deal with politics. But I decided to stop being a member of the party because of objective reasons. The reason of this step is my intention to deal with my family and take care of my health. During my immigration I contacted with my family members through phone. You made efforts for protection and restoration of my civil rights. I want to thank my like-minded person Araz Alizadeh, I also want to note the organization of visit of â€œSosinternâ€ Secretary General Luis Ayala and his meetings with the president concerning restoration of my rights. I have always supported and will support the social democracy. I wish the increase of power of my native Azerbaijan, happiness and welfare to every familyâ€.
