The head of the state noted that general socio-economic indicators of our country show that no other country in the world developed like Azerbaijan in the last 8-9 years. This is evidenced by all the economic indicators. The countryâ€™s economy grew by three times. Industrial capacity is also increased by three times. Poverty has decreased by five times. Un unemployment reduced significantly , and today its level is lower than in developed countries - 5.4 percent. In these years in our country over one million jobs were opened. Vast majority of these jobs are permanent.These programs and initiatives have been given impetus to the successful development of our country. Currently, specific measures aiming at diversifying the economy were taken. These measures give its effect. International financial institutions, credit rating agencies are very positive about the situation in Azerbaijan. They show the successes achieved in Azerbaijan as an example to other countriesâ€.

The President also said that absolute majority of the programs being implemented successfully in the country. â€œFuture economic development will be very positive. Our strategic view is also aimed at comprehensive development of the country. "Azerbaijan 2020â€ the State Program and the concept is prepared. At the same time, the contours of future development programs, covering the years 2013-2023 have already been defined . Some time ago I put such a task: in 2013-2023, GDP of Azerbaijan should be doubled due to the non-oil sector. Ultimately, it will allow Azerbaijan to join the ranks of high income countries. The problem posed is as follows: Azerbaijan has to become a developed country. This goal is posed and we will achieve it "- said Ilham Aliyev.

A conference dedicated to the first year results of realization of the â€œState program on socio-economic development of Baku and its settlements, 2011-2013,â€ and presided over by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has been held on June 20.
The Head of State familiarized himself with photostands reflecting the restoration works in Baku and its settlements within the first year of realization of the State Program.
