Azerbaijani President: Today, the pace of economic development of Azerbaijan is a leading country in the world-wide
Noting that after the fall of ADR started in Azerbaijan during the Soviet period, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that, despite all the difficulties and ideological framework, the time has also been successful for Azerbaijan.
Stressing that the first years of the restored independence in 1991 have been difficult for Azerbaijan, prevailed at the time the anarchy, chaos, anarchy and tyranny represented a greater threat to our country, President Ilham Aliyev said that after, Heydar Aliyev’s return in 1993, his political power was eliminated all the negative phenomena in the country to establish stability, a period of development, formed the foundation of our statehood, and was determined overall development strategy.

Noting that Azerbaijan’s economy is 80 percent of the economy of the South Caucasus, President Ilham Aliyev described the election of our young republic, celebrated last year the 20th anniversary of its independence, a member of the UN Security Council with the support of 155 countries as a result of a clear right of foreign policy.
He stressed that the election to the UN Security Council shows the world’s attitude to the country and in Azerbaijan is currently chairing the UN Security Council.
Noting that the main challenge facing the country is to settle the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said with regret that in this respect there is no result.
He said that influential international organizations made enough of resolutions and decisions relating to the settlement of the conflict within Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity.
The President also said that at the a few days ago in Chicago, the NATO Summit adopted a very thorough and fair resolution of this issue. “Today, the pace of economic development of Azerbaijan is a leading country in the world scale," - said President Ilham Aliyev, noting that the international credit rating agencies assign credit ratings high to Azerbaijan.
He stressed that provides diversification of the economy, reducing dependence on oil and gas is a lot of support for private sector development. Currently, 80 percent of our economy is formed by the private sector.
Noting that Azerbaijan is seeking to improve relations with its neighbors based on the principles of international law, mutual respect and trust, subject to the non-interference in each other’s affairs, the President said that our country has recently become a member of the Non-Aligned Movement. He stressed that the organization in Azerbaijan are treated with great sympathy and trust, and we are using it, will gain even more friends.
Stressing that economic and social development of our country and the process of building a legal democratic state and will continue to go well, President Ilham Aliyev once again congratulated the people of Azerbaijan on Republic Day.
