Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs: Public Chamber members detained during unauthorized protest action released

According to him, a group of people trying to hold an unauthorized protest action today in Baku was detained by the police. 8 protesters were fined in accordance with the requirements of the offence and released.

The leader of Civil Movement “Nida”, journalist Anar Jafarli was detained for 10 days according to the sentence of the Nasimi District Court.

Today at 13:00 by local time, the Public Chamber organized an unauthorized protest action outside the Public Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (ITV). The member of an action Nigar Yaqublu, deputy chairman of Youth Organization of Musavat Party, read the protest action’s resolution. The resolutions included such items as allowing to the representatives of opposition parties to use air time on the TV channel, coverage of the Public Chamber’s events and releasing of PC members.
