He said that he was concerned about the aggravation of Iran-Azerbaijan relations: “There are objective problems between Azerbaijan and Iran. We mustn’t forget that a great part, 40% of Iranian population is the Turks. The Iranian officials announced it”.

Karimli said there were discontents in division of the depth of the Caspian Sea: “Though the Public Chamber sees Azerbaijan’s future in the European family, we want the normal relations with Iran and Russia”.

Karimli underlined the recent attempts for artificial aggravation of relations: “The aggravation of relations doesn’t benefit any country. It is wrong to create tensions between the two countries because of private affairs”.

Musavat Chairman Isa Gambar noted that first of all the Azerbaijanis living in that country had to be taken into account in Iran-Azerbaijan relations: “The officials in the Iranian government understand that the development of the northern Azerbaijan, its integration into the world can have negative impact on Iranian regime.”

According to Gambar, Iran considers Azerbaijan as a weak link and tries to show its power by continuing these attacks.
