APFP deputy chairman Asef Guliyev criticizes Arif Hajili for his appeal to president

Baku. Ramil Mammadli â€“ APA. â€œOne can understand the appeal of ordinary party members on pardon, but I consider such appeal by Arif Hajili, who is in the leadership of Musavat Party, as unacceptableâ€, deputy chairman of the Azerbaijan Popular Front Party (APFP) Asef Guliyev told APA.

Guliyev said that the appeal of person, who pretends to the party chairmanship, in such context to the government is an unacceptable: â€œI have also faced with the same situation and these moments during my imprisonment. During my imprisonment in 2002, head of the department on the implementation of court decisions Aydin Gasimov met me and wanted to write appeal in such context to the government. Then member of the Azerbaijani Parliament Faraj Guliyev signed this appeal. Aydin Gasimov tried to assure me that this appeal will be a positive step for me but l didnâ€™t believe itâ€.

Guliyev noted that opposition leaders must specify whom they should address during the imprisonment: â€œCurrently two persons from the leadership of APFP are in prison. I can not say anything about the others, but I will not recommend or appreciate such letter of Shahin Hasanli and Sahib Kerimli. People, who are in the party leadership, must bear the condition of prison. It is a political struggle, because we must consider all situations before starting this work. In any case, I donâ€™t consider such appeal as an acceptable.â€
