Independence Act signers address President Ilham Aliyev with request to release Arif Hajili

APA reports that in his speech, chairman of the Musavat Party Isa Gambar, chairman of the United Azerbaijan National Unity Party Hajibaba Azimov, former MPs Ikhtiyar Shirin, Sulhaddin Akbar, Ibrahim Ibrahimli and the others signed a letter addressed to President Ilham Aliyev with request to release arrested members of Public Chamber.

Azimov presented the text of the letter written by the signers of the Act of Independence. Former MPs, who didnâ€™t attend the meeting, said that they would also sign the appeal and then the letter will be sent to President Ilham Aliyev.

â€œWe consider that Your humanist decision will have a positive effect on increase of Azerbaijanâ€™s international influence on the eve of Baku-host Eurovision-2012 Song Contest, which contributes to peace in Europe, and will play a significant role in the establishment of civil solidarity in the country. We hope that our call will have a resultâ€, the letter reads.
