Document admission for rerun, additional and new municipal elections ended in Azerbaijan

According to the preliminary reports, 1520 candidates were registered in 85 constituencies and for 330 municipalities. Final figures are expected to be little more.

The municipal election campaign has been started on September 30.

Azerbaijani citizens above 21, living in the relevant territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as initiative groups of voters, political parties and alliances can participate in the elections.

The elections have been scheduled to November 30, 2011.

The candidates will run for 464 places in 330 municipalities during the voting in 86 constituencies.

Last municipal elections were held in Azerbaijan on December 23, 2009.
