Four sentenced for Public Chamber rally

The court sentenced Ulvi Guliyev to three years of imprisonment, Ahad Mammadli â€“ three years, Elnur Najidli â€“ two years, Rufat Hajibeyli â€“ one and half year.

The civil complaints were considered groundless.

Relatives of the defendants chanted different slogans outside the court building during the process. Police asked them to leave the area.

Criminal investigation into the incidents during the April 2 rally is conducted according to the article 233 (organizing and active participation in the actions violating public order), 315 (resisting and using force against the government official) of the Criminal Code. 14 persons were brought to responsibility under these articles.
