Representatives of various government agencies of Azerbaijan, members of the parliament, heads of media organizations attended the presentation ceremony, APA reports.

In his keynote speech, director of AzerTAC news agency Aslan Aslanov spoke about the importance of the book. He said head of the Presidential Administration, Academician Ramiz Mehdiyev was an author of idea and introduction of the book, which is about the history of modern Azerbaijan.

Head of the Public Policy Department of the Presidential Administration Ali Hasanov said the book fully covered the contemporary period of Azerbaijan, including political-economic reforms carried out by President Ilham Aliyev, concrete facts indicating the countryâ€™s development. The facts were comprehensively analyzed. Hasanov called the book a valuable source, fundamental and historic chronicle.

â€œModern Azerbaijan is a result of the eraâ€™s reality. It is a result of titanic work done by former president Heydar Aliyevâ€, executive secretary of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) Ali Ahmadov said and added that articles written by different authors were collected in the book. It shows the development way and priorities of Azerbaijan, which reached its independence 20 years ago. â€œ20th anniversary of the independence is celebrated this year. Independence is the form of living and working for every people. This is a form of self-determination. Azerbaijan has achieved all of this during 20 years of independenceâ€.

Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev said the book was written in interesting, fluent language. It shows real state, development and opportunities of Azerbaijan.

â€œToday all cultural centers of Azerbaijan are re-established, modernized and possessing opportunities to serve the new generationsâ€, the minister said.

MP Faraj Orujov said the facts described in the book are the results of deep analyses and at the same time covered the priorities of the country.

Editor-in-chief of Azerbaijan newspaper Bakhtiyar Sadigov noted that 20 years are very short period for the history, but the work of centuries has been done in this period. â€œToday Azerbaijan is an independent country, which ensures its military, political, economic security independently. We must deliver our history, our achievements reached in the period of independence to young generations. Azerbaijan will mark 30, 50, 100 years of its independence, but we will return to this period in that time tooâ€.
