YAP: â€œThe release of reports on corruption claim in boxing is the results of jealousy against Azerbaijanâ€

Ahmadov said that he wanted to draw attention to some factors: â€œAs you know, Azerbaijan is hosting World Boxing Championship. It is one of the significant events for Azerbaijanâ€™s sports. It says that Azerbaijan has turned into the country, which makes significant contributions to the development of sports and physical education. Various international competitions, European and world championships are organized in our country. On the other side, one of the features of the current world championship is that it will be possible to gain license to the Olympic Games which will be held in London in 2012. All these, certainly, creates the feelings of jealousy in someone against Azerbaijan. Most of all I consider these reports as a result of jealousy against Azerbaijan. Secondly, I consider it as an attempt to shadow this great sports event. There is a pressure upon Azerbaijan in these claims and reports. Everybody knows that Azerbaijani boxers achieved high results at the international competitions. The probability of winning high results by our sportsmen in the forthcoming Olympic Games is enough great. Thus, they launched campaign to overshadow the possible achievements of Azerbaijani sportsmen in the competitions after a yearâ€.
