Date of re-elections, additional and new elections for municipalities made public in Azerbaijan

APA reports that re-elections, additional and new elections for some municipalities were considered at the meeting. Chairman of the Central Election Commission Mazahir Panahov said elections were held for 1718 municipalities in Azerbaijan on December 23, 2009.
â€œ1709 municipalities were formed. The results of elections for 9 municipalities were considered invalid,â€ he said.

Mazahir Panahov said the number of the seats of some municipality members reduced by 1, 2 or more because of various reasons.

Elections will be held for 464 seats in 330 municipalities.

â€œ9 municipalities will be fully elected,â€ he said.

Decision was made to hold re-elections, additional and new elections for municipalities. Under the decision, elections will be held on November 30, 2011.

â€œSchedule of main actions and events for holding re-elections, additional and new elections in Azerbaijan Republicâ€ was confirmed.

The composition of the 2nd Sumgayit Constituency Election Commission #42 was changed.
