Zahid Oruj said the changes arise from the requirements for Azerbaijan’s international military cooperation. There are no changes in the fundamental issues on the principles of the military service.
“The issues concerning draft age, period of service, draft deferment remain unchanged. But there are various new provisions in the issue of military jobs. This may be connected with the reforms in the military sphere,†he said.
Zahid Oruj said the new law does not contain an issue on recruitment for the army basing on contract.
