Draft deferment for persons studying masterâ€™s degree program in Azerbaijan to be discussed in parliamentâ€™s autumn session

The parliamentarian said Azerbaijan has a lot of resources of mobilization, and draft deferment of several thousands of persons every year will not create problems for the army.

â€œScience is one of the important aspects of security. It causes gaps in the science that the young persons studying masterâ€™s degree program are not granted draft deferment. Scientists grow old, principle of continuity has been violated, the average age limit is over 54,â€ he said.

The parliamentarian offered to include the issue on draft deferment into the legislation, his offer was supported by a number of parliamentarians.

Zahid Oruj considers that two-month service, which is applied in other countries, can also be applied in exchange for draft deferment.
