Azerbaijani parliament makes driving-related amendments and annexes to Administrative Code

The draft amendments and annexes have been discussed at the parliamentâ€™s meeting today. According to the draft, the persons driving while being under the influence of alcohol, drugs, psychotropic agents will get five penalty points. Four penalty points will be given for the violation of the operating rules by the drivers, five points will be given to the drivers avoiding breath test.

Another amendment is connected with parking. According to the amendments to the code, the transport vehicles are to be parked at the car park protected by the relevant executive body. The driver, whose car is taken to the car park of the relevant executive body for the violation of parking rules, can pay at the site the administrative penalty and the money for taking and keeping that transport vehicle. The driver will be given a check and the transport vehicle will be returned.

According to the draft, after the term of the driving restriction expires, the driving license is returned to the driver in two cases: the person, whose driving permit is restricted for over a year, gets the license back the day he passes the exam; the person, whose driving permit is restricted for a year or less than a year, gets the license back without an exam the day the term expires.
