MP Gudrat Hasanguliyev noted that the price rise was not available for the current situation. The MP asked the parliament speaker to propose an offer to the government on postponement of this decision for some time while global crisis was being continued.

In turn, MP from New Azerbaijan Party Siyavush Novruzov said that at present, tariffs on the mentioned services were very low in Azerbaijan: “Electric, gas and other communal debts have been repeatedly erased by the head of state so far. And some persons abuse this and there occur conditions for squandering.

Speaker Ogtay Asadov supported Novruzov’s opinions: “It is not right to use price rise of water or anything for the purpose of manipulation. Water price has been increased by 12 kopecks. How much do you pay for a bottle of water in the markets? Today, 12 000 people work in the company engaged in water supply of Baku city. Tariffs are low, the company can not pay wages of employees. At the same time, railway tariffs are lower by 3-4 times than in Armenia and Georgia.
