President Ilham Aliyev visits construction site of Heydar Aliyev Center

Baku â€“ APA. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva have today inspected construction progress of the Heydar Aliyev Center, APA reports quoting AzerTAc.

The head of state was informed about the construction. It was said that the Center will cover a total area of 15.25 hectares.

It was noted that the Heydar Aliyev Center will consist of three major structures located in similar area and making a unique complex. The total area of the complex will be 57,000 sq m. This structure will include museum and cultural heritage center with 10.854 sq m area, 985-seat conference hall, multipurpose hall with 27.880 sq m area, library and media center with 12.920 sq m area. The total area of the major building will be 6.039 sq m.

President Ilham Aliyev gave respective instructions and recommendations concerning construction of the facility.

With the view of perpetuating the memory of the national leader Heydar Aliyev, profoundly studying his philosophy of statehood, ideas of Azerbaijanism, President Ilham Aliyev issued an order on â€œEstablishment of the Heydar Aliyev Centerâ€ on December 29, 2006 and on â€œExtra measures for establishment of the Heydar Aliyev Centerâ€ on January 24, 2007.

The world famous Zaha Hadid Architects company, which became a winner of the international tender, is an architect of the center. DIA Holding FZCO is responsible for construction of the center.
