Shaitdin Aliyev elected CEC Deputy Chairman

CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov noted that Shaitdin Aliyev was elected the CEC member as a representative of New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) by the decision of the Parliament. Panahov said that there was vacancy for the post of deputy chairman of the commission and Aliyev had nominated himself for this post. He spoke about Aliyevâ€™s political activity: â€œI believe that Aliyev will work successfully as a commission member as wellâ€.

The Commission members voted for him unanimously.
Note that, after the death of former deputy chairman of the Commission Svetlana Gasimova in November 30, 2009, this post was free.

Aliyev thanked the Commission members for confidence. And noted that he would try to justify this confidence.
