MP Aslan Ismayilov: â€œIf Armeniansâ€™ involvement in Sumgayit events is not proved, there will appear a new â€œSumgayit genocideâ€ problem after some yearsâ€

Today, presentation ceremony of Aslan Ismayilovâ€™s book â€œSumgayit â€“ the beginning of USSR collapseâ€ and website www.sumqayit1988.com was held in Baku, APA reports. Delivering speech at the ceremony attended by representatives of different ministries, public organizations, historians and MPs, Ismayilov noted that preparation of the book appeared from several necessity.
Website creator Vagif Ismayilov said that materials in the book had been collected in this website. The site will function in Azerbaijani, Russian and English languages. It is planned to translate the information inside the website into other languages in future.
Ismayilov also said that if Armeniansâ€™ involvement in Sumgayit events was not proved, there would appear new Sumgayit genocide in the world after 10-15 years.

Then historian Jamil Hasanli, Professor of Baku State University Shirmammad Huseynov and other persons made speeches about the book.

Ismayilov also noted that he had sent a letter of proposal to appropriate state organizations for translation and distribution of this book abroad. He said they intended to prepare versions of the website in French and Armenian languages in the next few days.
