Azerbaijani parliamentarian Ganira Pashayeva held meetings within framework of Global Summit of Women in Beijing – PHOTOSESSION
During the meetings the parliamentarian gave copious information about Azerbaijan. The parliamentarian said 20 percent of Azerbaijani territories had been occupied as a result of the aggressive policy, one million Azerbaijani refugees and IDPs failed to return home for more than 15 years, she gave information about the acts of vandalism committed by Armenians in Azerbaijani territories, Khojaly genocide, captive Azerbaijanis, including women and answered their questions.
MP noted that Armenia doesn’t pay attention to resolutions of UN Security Council, Organization of Islamic Conference, PACE and doesn’t withdraw from occupied territories of Azerbaijan. It doesn’t give a chance to more than 1 million people consisting of thousands of Azerbaijani refugees and IDPs for returning to their homelands. Noting the importance of international community’s increased pressure on Armenia due to it, Mp asked all those women – being authoritative in their countries and international arena to show severe protests against this injustice towards Azerbaijani refugee and IDP women at all platforms.
“People die with regret for returning to their homelands and there can not be bigger tragedy for one woman†said Pashayeva. She noted that the biggest wish of Azerbaijani refugee and IDP women was to return to their homes and they had waited for support and strengthen efforts from world women in direction of returning back to their homelands. Mp informed about barbarism towards Azerbaijani refugee and IDP women, Armenian terrorist acts against Azerbaijanis and presented books and materials on Karabakh realities prepared by Heydar Aliyev Foundation. At the same time, views were exchanged on the role of women in society and in the government in Azerbaijan, policy and done works of the state in direction of process of solution to women and children problems, economic state, culture of Azerbaijan and etc. The woman leaders said that achieved information within such meetings and discussions were very important and significant for them. They also expressed their opinions about issues connected with their own countries.
