Azerbaijani parliamentarians make proposals on current issues
“The parliament should object to it on behalf of Azerbaijan-Israel interparliamentary friendship group and express support for Turkey,†he said.
MP Yevda Abramov commented on the issue. He said he will visit Israel on May 4 and sees no ground to worry about it.
“The so-called genocide will not be discussed tomorrow. It will be discussed whether to include the issue into the agenda or not,†he said.
Speaker Ogtay Asadov said he is sure that it will not be discussed in Israeli parliament.
MP Igbal Agazadeh spoke about the judgment of the European Court of Human Rights about journalist Eynulla Fatullayev.
“This judgment must be executed,†he said.
MP Mubariz Gurbanli said there is no need to politicize the decision of the European Union.
“This is not the high instance. There is no need to exaggerate the issue. Such judgments were issued not only with regard to Azerbaijan, but also other countries. Once such judgments were issued with regard to Turkey,†he said.
First vice-speaker of the parliament Ziyafat Asgarov also touched on the issue.
“Usually we face remarks that our courts have been politicized. They issue such judgments with regard to the countries, on which they want to exert pressure. The European Court has been politicized itself. No judgment of the European court is binding. Azerbaijan has already appealed to the Grand Chamber of the court. This appeal will be considered, later Azerbaijan’s Supreme Court will consider the case. The judgment will be considered at the plenary meeting of the Supreme Court. We are living in a legal state. The issue will be completed after the above-mentioned procedures,†he said.
MP Gudrat Hasanguliyev spoke about the pressures exerted by the US on Azerbaijan and Turkey. The parliamentarian said despite the pressures, Armenia-Turkey protocols were not ratified.
“We thank to Turkey. Armenia continues its hostile policy with regard to Turkey. Portraits of Turkish president and prime minister are burned in the streets in Armenia. We should appeal to Turkey for closing air communication with Armenia. We can make some concessions to Turkey in the sale of gas. Moreover, the international companies functioning in Armenia should not function in Azerbaijan. We should pass a law about it,†he said.
