Candidates put forward for vacancies in Azerbaijanâ€™s Central Election Commission

The United Azerbaijan Popular Front Party nominated chairman of the organizationâ€™s Supreme Assembly Mikayil Rahimov and Great Establishment Party nominated Ibrahim Mammadov for the vacancies.

No one has been nominated yet for one vacancy in the CEC (place of the deceased Svetlana Gasimova). Opposition parties are expected to put forward candidate to the vacancy.

The issue will be considered in the spring session of the parliament.

The above-mentioned parties confirmed that they had put forward candidates for CEC.

Musavat Party refused to send representatives to the two vacancies.

The issue was raised in the parliament, speaker Ogtay Asadov said they were not going to wait for Musavat and wanted someone to be nominated.
