Draft law on approval of prosecutor general of Azerbaijan to be discussed by parliamentâ€™s legal policy and state-building committee

The document is expected to be discussed at the plenary session of the parliament in the second half of the day.

The President of Azerbaijan sent a draft law on approval of prosecutor general to the parliament, APA reports. The draft law describes recommendation to appoint incumbent prosecutor general Zakir Garalov to this office for the next term. Garalov ends second term of his office on April 25. He was appointed as a prosecutor general on April 25, 2000.

According to the legislation of Azerbaijan, the prosecutor general is appointed every five years.
