Chairman of Azerbaijani Parliament’s Committee for Legal Policy and Statebuilding Ali Huseynov told that proposed amendments to these laws politicized by different persons, APA reports. To him, these amendments come from the soul of the Constitution: “Except operational search measures, in all other cases when any person is photographed without warning and despite his protests by any mass media representative or other person, then they cause responsibility determined in legislation. There is no any innovation in this issue. These are just amendments from the constitution”.

Deputy Igbal Agazadeh noted that these amendments serve to strangle the freedom of press: “So, when I speak at the parliament, a journalist will not have right to record my voice”.

Deputy Panah Huseynov stated that he will appeal to court about this law: “The main attention is being diverted here. The purpose of this amendment is to restrict the freedom of press”.

But Gudret Hasanguliyev noted that amendments in laws assumed positive importance. To him, these amendments are just for the protection of journalists’ rights.

Bakhtiyar Sadigov noted that these amendments serve to prevent the “racketeering journalism”.

First Deputy Chairman of the Parliament Ziyafet Asgarov told that there isn’t any reason for anxiety, the Constitution stands on the top of all laws.

After the discussions proposed amendments were adopted by the majority of votes.
