Baku. Elnur Mammadli â€“ APA. The draft law on â€œThe status of ex-presidentsâ€ may be discussed in the spring session of the parliament, MP Siyavush Novruzov said, APA reports. He said the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) made some proposals on the adoption of the law and the proposals were presented to the appropriate commission of the parliament.
â€œThe main thesis is that the status of ex-president can be applied to the person, who completes his tenure, or fails to complete because of his health problems, death. This status can not be applied when the person in power commits crimes, abuses power. It arises from the world practice. Any person can be deprived of any title. President must fulfill his duties in accordance with his motherland, nation and Constitution. If he fails to fulfill, it can only be connected with his health, resignation,â€ he said.
