Azerbaijani parliament adopts draft amendment to law on protection of historic and cultural monuments

Baku. Elbrus Seyfullayev – APA. Draft amendment to the law on protection of historic and cultural monuments was discussed at the Azerbaijani parliament on Monday. Chairman of the parliament’s culture committee Nizami Jafarov gave information about the document, APA reports. The committee chairman said the amendment would identify whether cultural monuments could be privatized or not.

The document was put to vote after discussions and adopted.

The parliament also reviewed reforming of the disciplinary and audit commissions and approved agreements between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan on visa-free travels and cooperation in the field of veterinary.

The lawmakers also adopted amendments to police law, administrative code, law on travel and passports, rules of financial declaration by the officials.

The parliament also discussed draft law on partly changing of administrative territorial division of Khachmaz region.

Amendments to some legislative acts in connection with the application of the law #819-IIIQD “On amendments to the Civil Procedure Code” adopted on May 26, 2009, amendments to some legislative acts in connection with the application of the law #771-IIIQD “On amendments to the Labor Code” adopted on February 24, 2009, were also discussed and adopted at the meeting.
