Siyavush Novruzov: Election commissions in Azerbaijan will be re-formed after the parliamentary elections

Reacting to the MP Ikram Israfil’s proposal to amend Electoral Code and to re-form the election commissions, Novruzov said composition of the election commissions would be changed after the new parliamentary elections. He said it would depend on the representation of the parties at the parliament.

MP Elmira Akhundova proposed to celebrate academician Zarifa Aliyeva’s birthday as the Day of Mothers and include it to the list of official holidays. She said many countries were celebrating the Day of Mothers alongside with the Day of Women.

After the discussions, the lawmaking plan of the spring session was put to vote and approved.

22 draft laws were included in the lawmaking plan of the spring session. It contains Codes of Construction, Town Planning and Concurrence, draft laws on obtaining information about the court activity, prevention of domestic violence, purchasing lands for government needs, cotton producing, individual information, normative legal acts, protection of human rights of the suspect and defendant peoples detained in jails, participation in the peacekeeping operations, participation of the citizens in securing public order, agricultural cooperation, municipality reports, struggling human immune deficit, legal protection of inventions, partly changing of administrative territorial division, compulsory labor insurance, scientific policy, high education. At the same time, the drat laws proposed by the President of Azerbaijan, supreme Court, prosecutor general, lawmaking initiative of the Nakhchivan Supreme Mejlis (parliament) were also included in the spring session plan.

The first meeting of the parliament’s spring session will be continued in the second half of the day.
