Azerbaijani president visits Alley of Martyrs

According to APA, the head of state paid tribute to the martyrs and laid a wreath before the complex of Eternal Flame. The government officials, members of the parliament and representatives of the public community have also visited the Alley together with the President. Now ordinary citizens started to visit the Alley of Martyrs.

Today Azerbaijan commemorates 20th anniversary of the tragedy of January 20, 1990.

In the night from January 19 to 20, 1990, the Soviet Army attacked Baku and shot down peaceful people. 137 people were killed, 744 wounded and 841 were illegally arrested. In 1994, the Azerbaijani parliament passed special decision on January 20 tragedy.
