The amount of funds to be allocated from Georgia's state budget for the Mirza Fatali Akhundov Museum of Azerbaijani Culture and the Heydar Aliyev Tbilisi State Professional Azerbaijani Drama Theater, operating in Tbilisi, has been announced, APA's local bureau reports.

According to the draft state budget of Georgia for 2026, 78 thousand lari (49 thousand AZN) will be allocated to the museum for the next year, and 377 thousand lari (236.5 thousand AZN) to the theater.

The amount of funds intended for both cultural institutions is more than the funds allocated in 2025. Thus, the state funds allocated to the museum from this year's state budget are 64 thousand lari, and for the theater, 318 thousand lari.

The museum will direct 50 thousand lari of state funds to pay salaries, and 28 thousand lari will be available on the basis of services permitted by law.

The theater will use 356 thousand lari of state funds to cover its salaries. The cultural center will have the right to receive 20 thousand lari of income based on services provided in accordance with the legislation during the year. A thousand lari is taken into account for other expenses.

The amount of state funds planned to be allocated to the Petros Adamyan Tbilisi State Armenian Drama Theater in the draft budget is 906 thousand lari (568.3 thousand AZN). This figure was 752 thousand lari in the 2025 state budget. The funds for next year are 20.4% more than the annual amount, and 2.8 times more than the state funds allocated for the Azerbaijani theater.

It should be noted that the project is currently being discussed in the Georgian parliament in the format of committees. The document is expected to be submitted to the government on October 14. Then the project will be discussed at the parliamentary session meetings with amendments.
