Russia is ready to restore humanitarian relations with Azerbaijan on an equal footing with its Azerbaijani partners, Mikhail Shvydkoy, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for International Cultural Cooperation, told RIA Novosti, APA's Moscow bureau reports.
According to him, there is no deep reason for not restoring cultural relations between Russia and Azerbaijan:
"We have always said that Russia is ready for everything that its partners are ready for. We are equally ready to the extent that our Azerbaijani friends and colleagues are ready to restore relations in the fields of humanitarian relations, science, education, and culture," Shvydkoy said, speaking about the prospects for restoring cultural relations between the countries.
He noted that Russia and Azerbaijan are connected by centuries-old history, that the peoples are closely connected, and that they share the same spiritual and moral values that form the basis of society in both countries: "It seems to me that we have no deep reason not to fully restore our relations."
